The Mantis are a warlike species known for their terrifying boarding parties. They are unmatched in combat, dealing an extra 50% damage in combat. On top of this Mantis also move 20% faster than other crew, letting them get to and retreat from combat faster. Their claws however make it a significant challenge to repair, taking twice as long to do so. If you have enough crew to man all your systems the Mantis are best left without one so they can run to combat boarders without disrupting operations. However if have to be on a system the best one is sensors, followed by shields and weapons as those are less important to keep manned than doors, engines and piloting.
